FRA as a Connecting Hub
Frankfurt Airport, with its wide choice of flights and destina- tions, is one of the world’s most attractive transfer hubs. Advanced technology and efficient ground handling, plus an exciting range of shops, restaurants, and other amenities in the growing Frankfurt Airport City, make changing planes at FRA convenient, fast, and attractive.
The fully automated SkyLine elevated shuttle train enables convenient transfers between Terminals 1 and 2. Domestic and international passengers travel separately, eliminating the need for transfer passengers to pass through passport and security checks when changing terminals.
– Transfer passengers: approx. 55%
– About 89% of the 59.6 million passengers that pass through Frankfurt Airport each year take international flights and the other approx. 11% domestic flights.
– The passengers for a single A380 flight arrive at or depart from Frankfurt Airport on about 60–80 different connec- ting flights.
