• The first construction phase for Terminal 3 will generate additional capacity for 14 million passengers a year.
• The area occupied by T3 will amount to 90,000 square meters, the equivalent of about 19 soccer fields.
• One of the first two piers built will have a length of 400 meters and the other will be 600 meters long.
• Between them, the two piers will have 24 aircraft parking positions.
• With an investment volume of 2.5 to three billion euros, Terminal 3 is one of Germany’s largest infrastructure projects.
• The work being contracted out within the scope of a bidding process will mainly benefit small and midsized companies in the region.
• Earthmoving and construction work will begin in 2015.
• The new terminal is scheduled to begin operating after
seven years of construction, in time for the 2022 summer flight schedule.
